Hi, I'm Esin Cansu Yılmaz. Born and raised in Istanbul, now living in London, half German and half Turkish. I'm a startup generalist and builder with a strong interest in storytelling and in products for habit building for human good.
I studied Economics and Sociology at Istanbul Bilgi University, graduating top of my faculty, before an MSc in Behavioural Science at the London School of Economics. My LSE dissertation focused on using behavioural science for good in tech design, motivating people to cook more at home through a cooking app I built, PanPals.
My passion lies in sectors that combine habit building with wellness, fitness, health, cooking, eating and moving. The stuff that makes us human and matters in our daily lives. Professionally that has meant roles across community, product, writing, organizing, strategy, creative design and narrative, taking overlooked and mundane experiences and reframing them into something meaningful through narrative and design.

Wannabe cinephile, 70k minutes on Spotify a year, amateur Muay Thai fighter, chronically online. I cook, run and cycle all mediocrely, like anyone who has hit a quarter-life crisis. If I had it my way I'd be a film director and AI wouldn't be allowed on social media.

"You can always tell when a person has worked in a restaurant. Service industry work develops the 'soft skills' recruiters talk about on LinkedIn: discipline, promptness, the ability to absorb criticism and, most important, how to read people like a book. With all due respect to my former professors, I've long believed I gained more knowledge in kitchens, bars and dining rooms than any college could even hold."Anthony Bourdain
